Det Beror På - A User-Centric Design Exploration

Our project aimed to craft a unique user experience using digital storytelling and interactive design. The core concept was an interactive digital experience that guided users to self-reflect on co-dependency, emphasizing user engagement and focus on the user experience.

Start and Concept Portraits

We leveraged a method known as "Concept Portraits" to visualize and analyze particular human behaviors. This approach helped us isolate and define the central theme of our project: the intricacies of co-dependency.

Co-dependency

Co-dependency is a condition affecting relationships where a person is over-reliant on another, often at the detriment of their own well-being. Our aim was to create a nuanced understanding of this concept, avoiding oversimplification.

Building and Designing Prototypes

Our design prototypes were crafted using Figma, focusing on interactive storytelling and visual impact. The prototypes were iteratively refined, incorporating feedback to ensure they resonated with the intended message.

Concept

The design concept aimed to maintain focus on co-dependency while offering an engaging and educational narrative. The balance between provoking thought and providing information was key.

Insights and Reflections starting with strengths:

The interactive design promotes thoughtful reflection and discussion. Fully reusable and can be played over again for fresh insights.

Weaknesses

Coverage of the co-dependency spectrum is challenging without oversimplification. The experience of co-dependency is deeply personal, making a universal approach difficult.

Opportunities for Improvement

Broadening the scope to encompass diverse perspectives. Enhancing the graphic expression to foster deeper engagement and understanding. Expanding story-building to create more nuanced user experiences. Focusing more on the "loop" versus the "story" to facilitate understanding of co-dependency cycles.

My Own Thoughts and Reflections

Reflecting on the seven intense days of our design sprint, I am proud of what we achieved. Our process was diligent; we iteratively refined our concept through user testing. The journey from prototype to final design was both challenging and enlightening. Looking forward, I see ample opportunity to refine our design and expand its impact, ensuring a more comprehensive understanding of co-dependency.
